Chris Tarrant’s son Toby admits he used to CHEAT on the Who Wants To A Millionaire? pub quiz machine after a version was sent to their house

But Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host Chris Tarrant’s expertise seemed to rub off on his children, as his son Toby has joked they used to cheat on the show’s pub quiz machine.
The Radio X DJ, 28, admitted that after a version of the machine was sent to their house, he and his siblings learned all the answers so they could cash on the machines when they visited nearby pubs.

Toby told the Blethered podcast that he and his sisters would learn the answers to all of the questions in the game machine, meaning they had an extra advantage .
He said: ‘We played so much we knew all the questions. My sisters would go to the pub near us, put in a quid and take out a tenner every time.
‘They never told anyone they were my Dad’s daughters and that they had the machine in their front room.’

But Toby went onto reveal that their plans were foiled when the questions in the machine were changed.
He added: ‘After they’d done that, we were screwed.’
Chris hosted Millionaire during its original run from 1998 to 2014, with Jeremy Clarkson taking over when the show returned in 2018.
It comes ahead of the long-awaited release of the drama Quiz based on the ‘coughing Major’ scandal, which will see host Chris played by Michael Sheen.

The three-part miniseries will depict the story how Major Charles Ingram used coughs to cheat his way to the top prize in 2001, and how he was eventually prosecuted for fraud.
Speaking about the scandal, Toby said: ‘At the time Dad hated Charles Ingram but, when it was all over, he was, like, ”Actually, it made the show even bigger”.
‘The show was already big, but once the coughing scandal happened it went to a whole new level. It became the biggest show on the planet.’
Quiz begins on Monday at 9pm on ITV.
